The Spring Primary will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2020. The polling place is located in the Kirkpatrick Center at the Kohler Village Hall, 319 Highland Drive, and will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voters are required to show a photo ID to vote. You must have lived in the Village of Kohler for 28 days to vote in the Village of Kohler.
Dog and Cat Licenses
All dogs and cats over 5 months of age require annual licensing. Rabies vaccination certificate is required at time of licensing. Dogs and cats must be licensed by April 1 of each year. Fees are:
Unaltered dog/cat $12.00
Altered dog/cat $5.00
Late fee $5.00

Year End Report
Every year the Kohler Police Department submits a year-end report to the Village Board. That report is open to all to read too. We post that report on the home page of our website at www.kohlerpolice.com. Take a look and see what we have been doing for the past year. It has statistics on number of calls and types of calls, as well as identifying some of the special events that we participate in.
Don’t forget that if you are planning to go away on spring break or at any time during the year, that you may have the Kohler Police Department check your house while you are gone. Residents can now request a vacation check online through the Kohler Police Department’s web page, by stopping by the department, or calling. If you call outside of regular business hours you may leave a message too. In your message just include your name, address, duration of your vacation and any other pertinent information that we may need to know. Some pertinent information may include lights that are on timers, alarms, and names of persons that may stop by or keyholders. Any other questions about this service, please call the police department.

To find out if a snow emergency is in effect for the Village, call 459-3881 anytime, or check the Village of Kohler’s website at www.kohlervillage.org. There is no parking on village streets during a snow emergency. A snow emergency is called when snow accumulation is expected to exceed 8 inches. Snow emergencies are typically called from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. to give the snowplows an opportunity to clear the streets with no cars present.
Winter is here. Here are some reminders on the Village of Kohler’s snow removal ordinances and policies.
1. Please remember to shovel your sidewalks within 24-hours after a snowfall event.
2. Do not blow or shovel snow back into the street.
3. Please remove vehicles from the street when the plows are in operation.
Snow Removal Around Mailbox Box Kiosks
It is the residents’ responsibility to have the snow removed around the mailbox kiosks. The Postal Service will not deliver mail if the carrier is not able to reach the unit – the front as well as the backside. Someone in the neighborhood needs to take the initiative to remove the snow; or the responsibility can be shared.
Residents are reminded that garbage/recyclables pickup is on Tuesdays; pickup starts at 7:00 a.m. and may last until 5:00 p.m. Due to driver changes and equipment malfunctions, actual pickup times may change, week-to-week. On a related note, if your garbage container is broken (lid cracked, broken wheel, etc.) please call 459-3881 for repairs.
Residents are encouraged to store their garbage receptacles in discrete locations. Ideally they should be stored in a garage. Other suitable areas include side/back yards, or any other area screened from public view. Please be reminded that all containers must be stored with the lids securely closed and away from any heat source, such as a grill.
Residents are reminded to pick up after their pets and to dispose of the waste appropriately.
Residents are cautioned against flushing disposal wipes down the toilet. Although many wipes are labeled “disposable” or “flushable”, quite often they clog sewer laterals and mains. The preferred method of disposal is to bag the wipes and place in your garbage receptacle.
Building Permits are required for all residential projects involving construction, heating, plumbing and electrical work that has a value greater than $1,000.00. Home additions, garages, accessory buildings, decks and other exterior modifications need Kohler Co. and Village of Kohler Plan Commission review. Spring Board Diving
Registration for beginner and advanced spring board diving opens on March 1. Class is from April 13- May 22
Develop the skills for Spring Board Diving. This class covers safety, etiquette, diving rules, approaches, and diving positions. The goal is to build skills and confidence while having fun. Participants must be able to swim the width of the pool. Ages 3rd -12th grade. Class meets Monday – Thursday. Times: 3:30-4:30 Beginner; 3:30-5:00 Advanced

Access to the Village Gym for February will be through the Event Lobby of the school. Any Changes will be posted on the Kohler Recreation Website and Facebook page as well as the Kohler Villager.
The Kohler Pool will be closed from December 1, 2019 – March 31, 2020.
The Youth Center will continue to be offering snacks and beverages out of the School Concession Stand in the Event Lobby after school Monday through Friday while school is in session.
