Sports Core holds “Run for Relief” challenge to raise donations for Texas hurricane victims
To raise money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey, 70 Sports Core associates and members continuously ran or biked in the Sports Core lobby on one treadmill and one bike for two full days in an effort to rack up as many miles as possible.
David Kohler, President and CEO of Kohler Co., kicked off the challenge with a treadmill run. In all, 33 Sports Core associates and 37 Kohler Co. associates participated, running a total of 455 miles. Sports Core members were challenged to pledge a straight dollar amount, or a dollar amount per mile. Pledges from 51 donors were received, raising $3,511 toward donations to United Way, which is routing the money to the areas affected most by Hurricane Harvey.
