Lakeland University and Sheboygan Senior Community are partnering to offer a seven-part School for Seniors beginning this November.
The free sessions offer a variety of programs of interest to seniors in the Sheboygan County community, and feature members of Lakeland’s faculty and other topical experts.
Participants can attend all the sessions or individual programs as their schedule allows. To sign up for sessions, call 920-458-2137, ext. 810.
Sheboygan Senior Community CEO Paul Treffert said the new partnership is a perfect match that will benefit the whole community.
“We identify well with Lakeland University: small, independent, innovative,” Treffert said. “We see ourselves as not just a healthcare provider, but a community resource. This presents an opportunity to share our beautiful facility with Sheboygan-area seniors in a new way and expand our role in the community.”
Joshua Kutney, dean of Lakeland’s Kellett School of Graduate & Professional Studies, said Lakeland has partnered with the City of Neenah’s Committee on Aging for the past few years to offer a School for Seniors in that community which has been very popular.
“Sheboygan Senior Community has been a wonderful partner in this, and we expect our School for Seniors will generate a lot of interest,” Kutney said. “We are always looking for ways to partner with local organizations and lend our expertise to programs that will benefit the community.”
The session schedule is below. All programs are held at Sheboygan Senior Community, 3505 County Road Y, from 10-11 a.m. unless noted:
