Pet owners, be mindful of Village ordinances

 -  -  8243

Village of Kohler ordinances require that dog owners pick up waste immediately and dispose of it in a sanitary manner. There are stations around the Village for this purpose, or dog walkers typically bring plastic bags with them for picking up waste.

The Village also has restraining regulations requiring dog owners to keep their animals on their private premises through direct supervision or restraints. The ordinances state that anyone is “empowered to seize, distrain or impound any dog or cat running at large in any area prohibited in this chapter and turn it over to the village police.”

Even if your dog is generally friendly toward people, they can be unpredictable around other animals, and residents have had their dogs attacked by unrestrained dogs.
