SHEBOYGAN – What is better than a warm bowl of soup on a cold winter day? Seventy bowls of soup! The 18th annual Love Bowls soup extravaganza to benefit Meals On Wheels of Sheboygan County will be held 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18 at Sheboygan South High School.
In addition to a wide variety of soups, participants will be treated to an assortment of breads, cookies and beverages, in addition to live musical entertainment and auctions. The cost is $25 per person ages 2 and up, and includes a handmade Talavera bowl or plate for each diner to take home. Tickets will be available at the door.
Entertainment begins at 10:30 a.m. with This Big Life and their spin of bluegrass and indie pop; Five Foot Two will follow at 11:45 a.m. with music from the dance band era; and the Tri-County New Horizons Band will take the stage at 1:00 p.m. to play a variety of music from jazz to show tunes to modern day concert band compositions. This year’s event will also feature a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction.
Love Bowls 2018 is sponsored by the Grover Family Foundation, Kohler Credit Union, Masters Gallery, Muth, Northland Plastics, Prevea Health, Sargento, Sheboygan Auto Group, U.S. Bank, Vollrath and Wisconsin Bank & Trust.
Every dollar raised at Love Bowls stays in Sheboygan County and is used to help provide wellness checks and fresh-from-the-garden, medically-tailored meals for elderly, homebound or disabled area residents. Research has proven that wellness checks, combined with daily meal delivery reduce isolation and depression. And 81% of Meals On Wheels of Sheboygan County clients say that the fresh, home-cooked meals improve their health.
