Kohler Musicians Earns WSMA Recognitions
The Wisconsin School Music Association has awarded an Exemplary Performance Award to Clara Montes. While she is a dynamic oboe player in the high school band, she has receiving this award for her performance on violin at the WSMA State Solo & Ensemble Music Festival.
The Exemplary Performance Recognition Project expands recognition of outstanding performers at the WSMA State Solo & Ensemble Music Festival. State festival adjudicators identify exceptional soloists at each of the state festival campuses through a two-step process: nomination and final selection.
Throughout the day, an adjudicator listen to approximately forty performances and then they have an opportunity to nominate soloists whose performance was truly exceptional – beyond what is typically expected for a high school performer. At the end of the day, each adjudicator selects the most exceptional performances to receive the Exemplary Soloist Award from among those nominated.
Also nominated from Kohler High School for the Exemplary Performance Award were Henry Leblanc-Concert Snare Drum Solo, Hannah Neist-French Horn Solo and Voce-Kohler’s Mixed Contemporary A Cappella.
Congratulations to all the Kohler musicians.
