One person was injured and a dog was killed in Kohler Thursday night when they were struck by a car on Aspen Road.
According to a release by Kohler Police Chief Shawn Splivalo, the March 5 incident happened at approximately 9:15 p.m. when two Village of Kohler residents were apparently walking a dog on the right side of the roadway, and a passing vehicle struck one of the pedestrians and the dog. A 37 year-old male was transported by Orange Cross Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The dog was transported to the Emergency Animal Hospital in Port Washington, but did not survive. The second pedestrian, a 43 year-old male, was not injured.
The vehicle operator, a 61 year old male resident of Kohler, stayed on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
The names of the involved parties are not being released at this time.
Responding agencies were the Kohler Police Dept., Kohler Fire Dept., Sheboygan Falls Police Dept., City of Sheboygan Falls Fire Dept. and Orange Cross Ambulance.
