The Kohler girls tennis team are the runners up in the 2019 WIAA Division 2 State Team Tournament. The top seed, and making their third appearance at state, they defeated Onalaska’s Luther High School in the semi-final 7-0 but lost to Waukesha’s Catholic Memorial High School in the final championship, 2-5.
Team members included Olivia Grose, Ava Hoffmann, Sarah Horth, Shelby Horth, Anushka Mangal, Lily Montes, Erin Pellegrino, Hannah Shvartsman, Natalie Udovich, and Nadia Wandschneider.
The previous week, at the individual state tournament, Sarah Horth, Anushka Mangal, and Shelby Horth participated in the singles bracket. Shelby, who took home a fifth place medal, broke a school record as the only Kohler athlete to make six appearances at state in her high school career. Going to state as doubles were the teams of junior Ava Hoffmann/senior Olivia Grose, and junior Lily Montes/senior Erin Pellegrino.
