Kohler, Wis. – July 12, 2019 – For the 76th year, Kohler Foundation’s Distinguished Guest Series will be giving voice to the arts with an exciting line up of high-energy, dynamic performances.
The Distinguished Guest Series will open the season with world-renowned movement company, Pilobolus with a performance of Shadowland: The New Adventure. Accomplished American jazz vocalist Bobby McFerrin will take the stage in the second performance of the series, with members of his groundbreaking a cappella group Gimme5. The final performance of the season features international percussion sensation STOMP with a show that is explosive, provocative and utterly unique.
“With a newly renovated Kohler Memorial Theater in 2020, we’ll have a higher proscenium and wider stage to accommodate larger companies. Patrons will experience ensembles that typically tour bigger venues around the world,” said Christine Taylor, executive director of the Kohler Foundation.

Bobby McFerrin’s Circlesongs takes audiences on a life-changing musical adventure. His exhilarating vocal vocabulary – call and response, global rhythms, soaring melodies, lush harmonies, and funny noises – reminds everyone how much fun it is to be alive. Ten Grammy Awards and a #1 global hit “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” are impressive, but his greatest gift may be his ability to transform a concert hall into a playground.

STOMP, the eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, and hubcaps. The inventive and invigorating stage show that’s dance, music and theatrical performance blended together in one electronic rhythm, returns updated, and with new routines for all ages.
