Kohler Fire Department called to two separate fires about an hour apart last night
Kohler’s volunteer fire department was dispatched just before 9:00 p.m. last night to provide mutual aid to other agencies that were battling a garage fire that had spread to a house on North Avenue in Sheboygan. Nearby homes were evacuated until the fire was brought under control. The Red Cross aided the family. A fire station located around the corner from the fire allowed firefighters to take warming breaks.
Approximately an hour later, Kohler was called to a roof fire at the Nemak building on South Taylor Drive in Sheboygan. There were fears the fire could spread to a large piece of metal which could cause an explosion, according to scanner traffic from the scene.
