The Sargento & Johnsonville Make-A-Wish® Golf Event to benefit Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin was held at Destination Kohler – on The River and Meadow Valleys courses at Blackwolf Run, followed by dinner at The American Club on August 19th. This was the first year this inspiring and impactful event has been held in Kohler. At least 244 golfers experienced an inspiring day of world class golf, while enjoying lots of fun activities and special treats, the opportunity to meet several local wish kids and win valuable prizes. One of the golfers, who is a brain cancer survivor himself, aced the 17th hole at Blackwolf Run’s River Course for his first tee shot of the day and won a 2019 Camaro from Van Horn Automotive!

Following a day of world class golf, more than 300 guests enjoyed the evening’s reception and dinner at The American Club with an impressive auction and inspiring program featuring wish kids Bryce and Owen from Sheboygan County. Nine-year-old Bryce from Kohler has battled a brain tumor. Thanks to the support of the Sargento & Johnsonville Make-A-Wish® Golf Event, Bryce’s special wish to spend a magical week at Walt Disney World® with his family recently came true! Bryce and his family shared their powerful and inspiring story during dinner. Bryce felt like a rock star when he saw the limo pull up to bring him and his family to the airport. Upon arrival in Florida, they checked into a fabulous hotel located right on Disney’s Monorail. They were so excited to be just a few minutes ride away from their favorite parks as Bryce could not wait to get on the roller coasters! They received passes to several Disney theme parks and VIP treatment the entire trip.

Wish kid Owen from Sheboygan celebrated his 10th birthday during the event. Guests sang happy birthday to Owen, who was presented with a birthday cake and a large wrapped gift, which revealed that his exciting with to go to Hawaii will soon come true! His gift included lots of special things he can use while in Hawaii. Ten-year-old Owen from Sheboygan has been battling rhabdomyosarcoma, a dangerous cancer of the muscle tissue.

Thanks to the generous sponsors, many of which are businesses in Sheboygan County, Blackwolf Run and The American Club, as well as many wonderful supporters and volunteers, this year’s Sargento & Johnsonville Make-A-Wish Golf Event raised enough funds to help grant nearly 60 life-changing wishes for children like Bryce and Owen who are battling critical illnesses!

Right, Owen and family from Sheboygan learning Owen’s wish to go to Hawaii came true.
