On Tuesday, April 2, 2019 the Sheboygan County Communications Center received a 911 call at 11:50 a.m. from a resident at 631 School Street in the Village of Kohler, reporting that a bathroom in the residence was on fire.
According to a release from the Kohler Police Department, Kohler Police officers and Sheboygan County Sheriff’s deputies arrived within a couple of minutes and observed smoke and flames coming from one of the bathroom walls. Handheld fire extinguishers were used in an attempt to stop the fire from spreading.

Kohler Fire Department personnel arrived and found an active working fire that extended into surrounding walls. An aggressive attack stopped the fire from spreading any further.
There were no injuries, and fire crews also were able to rescue several family pets.
The initial investigation points to some form of electrical failure as the cause of the fire. No damage estimates are available at this time.
Agencies assisting the Kohler Fire Department included the City of Sheboygan Falls Fire Department, the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department, the Haven Fire Department, and Orange Cross Ambulance Paramedics.
Assisting Kohler police with traffic control were officers from the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Sheboygan Falls Police Department.
