Destination Kohler’s annual festival celebrating food and wine kicked off on Thursday, October 17, with the sold-out Prevea Kohler Chefs’ Challenge, where the Kohler culinary team was challenged to create versatile, tasty bites. The four-day event continues throughout the weekend with educational sessions, tastings, luncheons and evening soirées.
Top talents on the Main Stage this year include Maneet Chauhan, the first Indian female competitor on Food Network’s Iron Chef America and The Next Iron Chef. She is a permanent judge on the network’s highly acclaimed show Chopped.” Joe Flamm is the Season 15 winner of Bravo’s Top Chef and earned a name for himself as the executive chef at Chicago’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Spiaggia. Carla Hall appears on Bravo’s Top Chef and Top Chef: All-Stars. She is a former co-host of ABC’s Emmy award-winning series The Chew and author of her third cookbook, Carla Hall’s Soul Food: Everyday and Celebration. Los Angeles native Jet Tila is known for his Thai/Asian-fusion cuisine and is the co-founder of Asian fast-casual concept, Modern Asian Kitchen. He’s appeared on several Food Network television series, including Chopped and Iron Chef America.
New this year is the Wisconsin-based Bartolotta Group’s “take-over” of the Chef’s Kitchen Stage with more top talent including Adam Siegel, James Beard Award-winning Executive Chef, and Managing Partner; Nick Wirth, Executive Chef at Bacchus; Brianna Bedan, Executive Chef at Joey Gerard’s; Aaron Bickham, Corporate Executive Sous Chef at the Bartolotta Restaurants; and John Korycki, Executive Chef at Harbor House.
In addition to the multitude of experiences, guests can also enjoy the Gourmet Marketplace in the lower level of The American Club, and a variety of tastings at the Woodlake Market.
Some events are sold out, but tickets remain for many others as of this Wednesday printing. Special offers will be on hand throughout The Shops at Woodlake all weekend as well.
