COVID-19 “Realistic Statistics” for 10/16

Percent positives in Sheboygan County remain high. This indicates that there may be a lot of untested people who are infected. There are 666 active cases, 20 hospitalized. There were 64 more at KMCI who tested positive since yesterday, bringing the total to 888.

The Kohler/Town of Sheboygan census tract has the third highest number of cases in the County.

As of Thursday, there were 53 facility-wide investigations. Nine were at long-term care facilities, two at group housing, two at healthcare facilities, eight at workplaces, 33 at schools.

Statewide, Wisconsin broke the record for new positive coronavirus cases today for the third time this week. The state also hit record highs for daily deaths and hospitalizations this week. US Surgeon General Jerome Adams said Friday in a news conference that Wisconsin is now considered a “red state” because the positivity rate is “going in the wrong direction.”

Nationally, percent positives were up only slightly at 5.2%. Total U.S. deaths continue to climb, currently at 218,448.
