Elementary Principal Report (Lisa Greene)
We have had a great start to the school year!  I want to thank the Kohler School Friends (especially the Roach family, the Kading family, the Avery family and the Mengel family) for the wonderful notes they put on student lockers to greet them on the first day! It is such a sweet gesture that was so appreciated by the students and teachers.  It sets a wonderful, positive atmosphere to begin the school year. Thank you for giving up your time to do something so kind.

We will continue our 4th and 5th grade safety patrol program.  This program is very successful with high interest. This year I have 73 safety patrols!  The students are able to demonstrate some wonderful leadership qualities through their participation.

We are looking forward the the Kohler Elementary Open House on Oct. 3 from 6:00-7:00 pm. This is a great opportunity for the children to show off their classrooms to their family members.

On Monday, Oct. 14th we will be sponsoring Sadarri and Company Storytelling Troupe @ 10:00 a.m. in the Village gym with a program entitled , “Shake your Tail Feathers.” We are working in partnership with the Kohler Public Library to offer a program for kids to attend during our first teacher Professional Development day.

For the past several years, we have been participating in Project Gratitude.  The children donate any “unwanted” Halloween candy to be shipped to our military troops.
We are looking for someone to sponsor our shipping costs this year, as boxes of candy are very heavy and the shipping is about $300.  We are happy to continue this project as it is such a great cause and allows the children an opportunity to be generous and kind.

MS-HS Principal Report (Nicholas DeBaker)
We are very excited to have Matt Zavada officially hired as our new activities and athletic director. He has been on board for several weeks remotely as he continues to heal up. He will be starting full time on October 1st. His new role leave a PE position opened. We will be conducting interviews this week and hope to have someone in the position by October 1.

The Kohler Middle/High Schools have created a Hootsuite account. This allows us to create one social media post and put it out on three different social media platforms. We have been using it to promote positive events going on in the school as well as communicate upcoming events.

We will be bringing a group of stakeholders to the Challenge Success Conference in Boston on October 12th. We have a great team that will be attending. We are looking forward to seeing what strategies we can learn and how we can implement them in the high school.
