Aurora Medical Center Sheboygan County construction project reaches 50% complete milestone
If it was a race, the new medical center construction project would be halfway to the finish line. Work is being completed on time, or in some cases, ahead of schedule at the construction site of the new Aurora Medical Center Sheboygan County.
The last of the structural decks are being installed and poured in the medical office building while prefabricated exterior wall panels are going up and the prefabricated bathrooms are being installed in the patient tower. The new facility is scheduled to open in 2022.
In conjunction with the new project, redevelopment plans are being considered for the current hospital site once the new facility is operational. Advocate Aurora Health recently hosted virtual meetings to spark community engagement. Advocate Aurora Health is committed to transitioning the site to a purpose that fits with the neighborhood’s characteristics and city parameters. More than 60 community members participated in the virtual meetings to learn more about the project and give feedback. Learn more about the project by visiting ASMMCRedevelopment.org.
